since I was in my mid 20's I've had a slight temporal recession in my hair. I'm in my late 20's now and there hasn't been any noticeable changes. I went to see a couple of hair docs and they said its only a small recession and has been stable with no change over the past 8-9 months in between each time I saw them. Hair loss only runs in my dad's family as my father got it from his mother and had diffuse thinning when he went to his mid 50's. I've recently taken this herbal medication for my kidneys and have been eating right /exercise and people have noticed my hair density has increased and looks more full but I thought with genetic hair loss the hairs should be decreasing? Is this my mother's good genes and my dad's bald gene at work? Or is it my hair loss progression has been stable and slowing down? I heard if you still have most of your hair by the time you're in your late 20's to 30's you will not go smooth bald with NO hair and keep a good amount of it.

Male pattern baldness is transmitted on the X chromosome. Your dad's bald gene should not affect you.
