IF propecia/rogaine/shampoos, etc don't WORK for you, is there any hope?
I'm a female 16 year old and I've been suffering hair loss for the last 2 years. At first I thought it was normal but then realised a lot of my other classmates dont lose as much hair as me. A lot hair comes out during the shower and my bedroom floor is covered random strands of hair and I have to clean the floors weekly to get rid of it and I always find strands of hair on my clothes or in my hair thats length slightly uneven with the rest of my hair so I just pull it away as it has already fallen off my scalp. I use Garnier Fructis's Fall Flight Conditioner and Alberto Balsam's fruity shampoo. I dont have a bald patch or anything, but I have kind of thick wavy hair. My hair doesnt look its losing hair though. But I find that after washing my hair, my hair is even weaker and a lot more hair is loss even when its dry. My mum is 42 and she used to have hair loss a few years ago, but not as serious as mine and she didnt do anything to stop losing her hair, just happened. Could it be a family thing? I really dont know what to do. Will I eventually lose all my hair or get a bald patch? What should I do to try and stop this? I'm very worried and dont want to continue having to tie up my hair for the rest of my life and its so embarassing when a strand of my hair accidentally falls into someones food or their sheet or something. Dont know what to do. Please help me, thank you so much. I'm not sure if its stress, I'm only 16? Even if it is stress, how would I de-stress? I take care of my hair quite well, wash it every 2 or 3 days and straighten my hair once every 2 weeks and have never dyed my hair. My period is normal and my weight is 53kg and I am just above average height for a female 16 year old. However, I eat on average more than my classmates but dont gain the weight. I dont know if this effects anything though?
I think that it could be stress. Anything else going on in your life that might be causing you to be a little worried or anxious? If there is counselling might help you with that.
You may have Alopecia but if you don't try washing your hair EVERY OTHER day as the chemicals in shampoo and conditioner do damage hair. It can also be stress.
This could be related to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or another Endrocrine/Thyriod condition like Hashimoto's Thyroiditis or Cushing's Syndrome My questions would be after the hair loss: *Are you overweight? *Do you have irregular or painful periods? *Do you have periods at all? *Do you find you crave sugar and carbs all the time and eat more than you want to due to feeling HUNGRY all the time? *Facial hair or hair on your body that is more than "normal"? *Dark velvety or lumpy skin in the folds like your under your arms, back of your neck, behind your legs? *And or any of these related conditions: Depression, Bipolar, Clitormalgey, Micromastia Anyway you shake it you need to get to a doctor. There is also Rogaine too if the doctor suggests so you do have a choice.
You should look into PCOS and Thyroid Issues. PCOS- In very simple terms, PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a genetic problem with various hormonal manifestations. It presents with a rainbow of symptoms like difficulty in losing weight, tendency to gain weight around the waist (belly), regular or sometimes grossly delayed periods, excess facial hair, hair loss(scalp), acne, difficulty in conceiving, recurrent miscarriages, etc. It is not necessary that one must have all these symptoms or problems together. While some patients may have recurrent miscarriages, others may have had children easily but battle delayed periods and weight gain. And while the cause is unknown, professionals tend to believe it is genetic, meaning if your mother has it you may have it as well. PCOS is the most common cause of menstrual irregularities in woman in the age group of 15 to 45 years. In the women suffering either from infertility, recurrent miscarriage, or weight gain, PCOS is responsible for 50% of the problems. This is not something that has suddenly evolved now. It has been there for years but definitely the incidence has increased maybe because of our food habits, lifestyle changes, or rising environmental pollution. Our ability to diagnose this problem has also improved with the coming of transvaginal ultrasound. Ultrasound done with a full bladder may miss the diagnosis in most cases of PCOS. The ultrasound feature of PCOS will remain from 'womb to tomb', from the time you are born till the time you die. Yes it may not show all its features in the initial stages. That is why some patients may have had children (and had regular periods until then) but with the increase in weight, suddenly will start having delayed periods thereafter.
Might be stress related or Alopecia.
There are certain vitamins that help promote the growth of hair in the body. Changing to a healthier diet is vital not only for hair growth but also for the general well being of your body. Some of the most important include: - Essential Fatty Acids - The B Vitamins - Antioxidants - Sulfur - Zinc But vitamins and diet are only one part of it, you should also consider adding excercise and hair loss products into your hair growth solution. It could be stress related. I would suggest deep moisturizing with olive oil to help strengthen it.
"Many factors may be involved. It is the best chioce to find a doctor to diagnose the cause of hair loss and help determine the most appropriate treatment. In 95% of cases, the drop is attributable to a condition called androgenetic alopecia. Other hair disorders can also cause excessive hair loss, and we describe them briefly in this
First you should consult your doctor to see if it is a medical issue. There are special shampoos out there as well that will treat specific hair loss. You can also massage tea tree oil in your hairs to help with hair growth.
Hi, We normally shed about 80 to 100 strands a day, anything more than this is considered hair loss. Do you have any considerable hair thinning? If you don't, then you have nothing to worry. But if you want to keep your scalp and hair healthy, eat more protein and use a shampoo and conditioner that are specially made to prevent and stop hair
