I'm sure this has been beaten to death, but I'm not finding the exact situation. Or maybe I am, but the details aren't there. I'm an adult between 25 and 30, and for years now, my hair has had major frizz. Since high school I've had a "halo" of ends from the crown of my head to the tips of my hair. Now, since college the situation has improved. I switched to a boar bristle brush, I've begun using a wide toothed comb when my hair is wet, I don't even put my hair up or back in a pony tail for fear of breaking/tearing it out. My hair is fine, without much volume, but not thin. Or it wouldn't be if it was the same thickness at the middle/ends as it was near my scalp. In high school, this was attributed to hormones and not taking good care of my hair, but I've really been paying attention this past 5 years or so. But still, I have a halo that I do not see on other women! I thought it was breaking off from weakness, but when I asked a professional hair stylist, she looked at my hair and said my hair was fine and healthy. I hadn't been for a trim for months but she said all she could see was just a lot of ends, and not many of them split. She said I have a higher rate of fall-out instead. I clog the shower drain net every morning and my hair is only shoulder length. Is that excessive? What can I do to decrease my hair loss?
