21 yr old male facing hair loss (androgenic alopaecia) ...?

To be honest I'm not nearly bald yet, but i noticed it at a very early stage thankfully. Now my doctor, who is a very highly rated dermatologist, recommended i use rogaine for the time being to prevent further hairloss. So i started for a month now and at first noticed a rapid amount of hairloss and thinning which supposedly is normal at first. It slowed down tremendously but my hair i feel like is thinner then ever. (no one still has noticed yet thankfully). The thing is I don't like it, and I heard that it recovers hair in your crown not your front. I'm loosing hair in the front though more, the back is fine. Should I stop using rogaine? Will it recover the hair loss i endured when using it at first? And for all you negative nancy's out there. I'm a Bio Pre-Med major hoping to get be in medical school 2 years from now so I have a good understanding of the science. I just want to let you know all bald men, that there is hope, and to be honest. So many breakthroughs have been happening and I'm loving it. In germany they literally made the first synthetic hair follice. In Yale they possibly have found the chmeical that produces androgenic cells (cells that make hair). and in UPenn they found a lotion that recovered a FULL THICK head of hair in mice. Seriouse testing have been done to see see for any side effects. Not to mention gene therapy plays a role, we found the gene in Columbia University that could stop it from happening period for your kids. This ALL has happened within the last 4 years. And what's funnier is ALL have given it a 10 year gap for a treatment, it'll probably be lotion, or injection supposedly. And if you dont believe me a couple days ago we just found a way to get HIV out of someone's system literally due to gene therapy. Big things are happening. So I hate when people say, there is no cure. And if we dont have one, its a matter of when. Sooner the better please. Answer my question though lol

try minoxidil. it is 100% better than rogain, my mother works in hair replacement and those companies sell minoxidil for over $200 and make you have lazer therapy but you can buy it in chemists for around $30 (australian). minoxidil does work!!
