Where can I get a good fitness DVD for over 60's?

I would like to know what I can do to work out at home without the need for any equipment. Already I do 150 push ups (broken down into 5 reps of 30) and 50 pull ups (10 reps of 5 - finger tip pull ups, done on door frame cos I don't have a bar) once every two days. The push ups are getting too easy though so I thought of maybe increasing, perhaps to 4 reps of 50. I cycle at least 20 minutes a day, though not at the moment cos my bikes out of action. I am a bloke, I have a very good, healthy diet, with lots of protein etc. I usually have a cool down day in between, so i alternate between day off and day on. I've avoided doing sit ups because I have problems with my back and any kind of repetitive straining motion causes me quite a lot of discomfort. I would like to know if there are any good exercises for building up my abs, and also if there is anyway to build up my pecks more (they're already quite well toned) at home, and without the need to get some weights. Also please tell me if you think there are any problems with my regime. Anything I should be doing differently in terms of number of reps, and down days etc. Maybe I should be alternating a day doing exercises for my chest/arms/abs. Perhaps there is a certain technique to these exercises which I haven't mastered? Any advice on any of these areas would be hugely appreciated, I'm not trying to look like super man, just want to be able to look after myself. Thanks guys!

Hi :) i would suggest increasing the intensity/ how hard you push yourself. So if your doing all those push ups etc, are you doing them with lots of effort? It is better to progressively increase your exercise so yes increasing the number you do will help :) The plank is a good exercise, no equipment needed :) it improves your core musles and abs. you probably know what it is but just incase ;) Lie on your front on the floor, lift yourself up onto your toes and elbows and keep in that straight position for 30seconds, then increase it to 45 when you get good. It really does help, i've just been doing circuits for GCSE PE and i needed to build my strength for press ups etc and doing the plank each night made the circuits alot easier. As for not having weights, you could either go the the gym and use their weights, or for a cheaper alternative use bags of sugar or cans, as silly as it sounds im sure it will work :L I hope that helps a bit.. Abi :)

Hey there, despite what the fitness industry might have you believe, you don't need any equipment to get ripped, what you need is a good program that will help you with the right exercises and the right diet. Your regime sounds pretty good, you've got a good mix of cardio (when you're bike is back up and running!) and muscle. It also sounds like you've got a good healthy diet which is half the battle, but I'd highly recommend investing a couple of dollars in a proper program to get you started. It'll save you a load of time and effort in the long run and get you where you want to be a lot faster. Hope that helps.
